In the early morning hours of October 7, 2021, the life of 50-year-old Douglas Munn, a male resident of Trenton, New Jersey, was tragically cut short. Just before 6 a.m., the Trenton Police Department was alerted to gunfire on Hoffman Avenue by a Shot Spotter notification. Upon their arrival at the scene, officers discovered Munn lying on the ground between 165 and 167 Hoffman Avenue, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
Emergency services transported Munn to Capital Health Regional
Medical Center in an effort to save his life. Despite the medical attention he received, Douglas Munn succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead a short time after arriving at the hospital. The Mercer County Homicide Task Force, in conjunction with the Trenton Police Department, immediately launched an investigation into the fatal shooting.
In the immediate aftermath of the incident, law enforcement officials had not made any arrests in connection with the shooting, and no suspects were publicly identified. The investigation into Munn's death was reported to be ongoing as authorities appealed to the public for any information that might lead to the apprehension of those responsible for this act of violence.
