In the autumn of 1978, a tragic series of events unfolded in southeastern Michigan, culminating in the death of Ronald Everett Hardesty, a 43-year-old male from Belleville. His life was cut short on October 18, 1978, when he was shot and killed at his residence on Martz Road in rural Wayne County. The person responsible for his death was his own son, William Edward 'Billy' Hardesty.
