On a cold winter night in Adrian, Michigan, the life of 19-year-old Theresa Carey was brutally cut short. On January 15, 1979, she was visiting her friend, 24-year-old Yolanda Torres Madison, at her home on West Maple Avenue. What began as a friendly visit turned into a horrific tragedy that would haunt the community for decades.
