Nicole Marie Schneider Allison, a 27-year-old Caucasian woman from Adrian, Michigan, tragically lost her life on July 4, 2022. A graduate of Adrian High School and Siena Heights University, she was a mother to three sons and four stepdaughters. Nicole was known for her love of Star Wars and Harry Potter and enjoyed doing crafts and playing sports with her children.
On that summer evening in Raisin Township, a violent altercation with her husband, Michael Lee Allison, who was 44 at the
time, ended in her death. It is believed that Nicole was planning to leave her husband, which led to the fatal confrontation. During the dispute, Michael physically assaulted her before shooting her twice. Her body was later found by police in a ditch near their home on Gady Road.
Raisin Township police officers responded to the scene and were able to convince Michael to surrender his shotgun without further incident. He was arrested at their home. Following his arrest, Michael Lee Allison was charged with open murder and felony firearm.
In court, Michael admitted to shooting his wife. He ultimately accepted a plea agreement, pleading guilty to second-degree murder. In exchange for his plea, the initial charges of open murder and felony firearm were to be dismissed at sentencing. On May 30, 2024, he was sentenced to 20 to 50 years in prison for her murder. He was also ordered to pay restitution for her funeral expenses. The couple's children were placed in the care of their maternal grandparents.
