Robert J. Mihalik, a 37-year-old Michigan State Trooper, tragically lost his life on September 9, 1984, in Saint Joseph, Michigan. On that fateful day, Trooper Mihalik was on duty when he received a report about a man who had driven away from a service station without paying for $35 worth of gasoline and cigarettes.
