On a summer day in Inkster, Michigan, what began as a routine warrant service tragically escalated into a violent ambush that claimed the lives of three police officers. Patrol Officer Clay Hoover, a 24-year-old male who had been on the force for just four months, was among the fallen. On July 9, 1987, Hoover, along with Sergeant Ira Parker and Officer Daniel Dubiel, arrived at a motel on Michigan Avenue to serve a warrant for a bad check on a 68-year-old woman and her son.
