Scott Anthony Flahive, a 28-year-old officer with the Grand Haven Department of Public Safety, tragically lost his life on December 13, 1994, while performing his duties. Officer Flahive was conducting a routine traffic stop on a vehicle driving without lights at Beacon Boulevard near Park Avenue. Unbeknownst to him, the vehicle contained two inmates who had recently escaped from the Ottawa County Jail.
