On December 27, 1996, Jerry Alter, a 31-year-old resident of Detroit, Michigan, was tragically found dead. He had been fatally shot in the head and his body was discovered in an alley on Hickery Street, south of 8 Mile Road and Schoenherr Street. The previous evening, Jerry had called his family around 7 PM to inform them that he would be visiting, but he never arrived. The following day, his family received a call from the Wayne County Medical Examiner's office notifying them of his death.
