In the summer of 2005, a quiet street in Waterford Township, Michigan, became the scene of a brutal crime that left a family shattered and a community in shock. Pamela Jean Barnes, a 41-year-old female, was found dead in her home on Brunswick Boulevard on July 6, 2005. She was discovered alongside her boyfriend, 39-year-old Kenneth Kanehl Jr. The couple had been shot multiple times as they slept in their bed.
