On a cold December evening in 2008, the life of 28-year-old Mason James Samborski, a dedicated Public Safety Officer in Oak Park, Michigan, was tragically cut short. The events that led to his death began with a seemingly routine traffic stop. Officer Samborski pulled over a vehicle driven by 16-year-old Jonathan Belton, who was unable to produce a driver's license. Opting to drive the teenager home rather than take him to jail, Samborski was given a false address to an apartment complex.
