Mason James Samborski, a 28-year-old public safety officer from Oak Park, Michigan, tragically lost his life on December 28, 2008. Samborski was conducting an investigation following a traffic stop when he encountered 16-year-old Jonathan Belton. After stopping Belton for a traffic violation and discovering he had no license, Samborski drove him to the Rue Versailles Apartment Complex, where Belton claimed to live with his sick mother. However, this was a ruse, and Belton attempted to flee.
