On November 16, 2009, 15-year-old Jamar Pinkney Jr. was tragically killed in Highland Park, Michigan. The incident unfolded after Jamar allegedly confessed to his mother, Lazette Cherry, that he had inappropriate contact with his 3-year-old half-sister. Seeking guidance, Cherry informed Jamar's father, Jamar Pinkney Sr., about the situation. The following day, Pinkney Sr. confronted his son at Cherry's residence.
