Commander Eric Michael "Mick" Jewess, a retired U.S. Coast Guard officer, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 57 on March 6, 2015, at his home in Ocean Springs, Mississippi. Eric was a native of Bessemer, Michigan, and had a distinguished career in the U.S. Coast Guard, retiring as a Commander. He later worked as a logistics manager for Huntington Ingalls Industries, Inc., Gulf Coast. Eric was remembered as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
