Purcell Carson, aged 26, was tragically shot to death on March 1, 2010, in the basement of his home in northwest Detroit. The incident also claimed the life of his girlfriend, Monica Botello, who was also 26 years old. The couple was visiting Carson's home when the shooting occurred. The only witnesses to this horrific event were Botello's two young daughters, aged 8 and 6, who were upstairs at the time.
