In the late summer of 2014, the life of Eric Michael Lauderdale, Jr., a 28-year-old Black or African American man from Flint, Michigan, was tragically cut short. On Friday, September 19, 2014, Lauderdale was found deceased near his light green Cadillac on the city's north side. He was rushed to Hurley Medical Center, but ultimately succumbed to his injuries. His death was determined to be a result of force, and authorities have treated the case as a homicide.
