Julius Reed, aged 42, was tragically shot and killed on the front porch of an east side Flint home late on the night of August 2, 2015. The incident was part of a particularly violent period in Flint, which saw a significant rise in homicides that year. Reed's death was one of several that occurred in a deadly two-week span beginning July 31, during which 10 shootings resulted in 11 deaths.
