On July 17, 2019, a violent incident in Flint, Michigan, resulted in the untimely death of Jajuan Alecander Demps Jr., an 18-year-old Black male resident of the city. The shooting occurred overnight, and while authorities responded to the scene, Jajuan was transported to Hurley Medical Center for treatment.
