On the evening of Friday, March 20, 2020, Darryl Van Stade, a 44-year-old male, traveled from the Grayling area to Flint, Michigan, for a meeting with an unknown individual. At approximately 9:30 p.m. at the Kearsley Park pavilion, located at 1700 Kearsley Park Blvd., Van Stade was shot and killed. There were other passengers traveling with him who were not injured during the incident.
