Anaiya Denise Montgomery, a 3-year-old Black female, was fatally shot in Detroit, Michigan on Easter Sunday, March 27, 2016. The incident occurred in the early morning hours at a home on Riverview Street. Gunmen forced their way into the residence and opened fire, striking Anaiya as she was being held by her mother. The young girl died from multiple gunshot wounds. Two men, aged 39 and 26, were also wounded in the shooting.
