Ja-mall Thelonious Kitchens, a 19-year-old resident of Norton Shores, Michigan, tragically lost his life on April 13, 2016. Kitchens was shot and killed while walking along Laketon Avenue near McLaughlin Street in Muskegon around 10:30 p.m. that night. The incident was part of a series of homicides that plagued Muskegon County in 2016, which saw a total of ten homicides.
