In the early morning hours of a November Saturday in Flint, Michigan, tragedy befell James Lester Cavett, a 33-year-old man whose life was cut short by gunfire. On November 19, 2016, at approximately 12:15 a.m., police were called to the 1900 block of Broadway Boulevard on the city's east side. There, they discovered Cavett lying near the street, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was rushed to a local hospital but ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
