In the spring of 2017, a house party on the Southeast side of Grand Rapids, Michigan, turned tragic, ending the life of 18-year-old Kiara Carter. On the evening of March 20th, Kiara was among a group of about a dozen people at a gathering in an apartment on Kalamazoo Avenue when she was fatally shot.
