Brittany Sevrey, a 28-year-old nurse from Muskegon, Michigan, tragically lost her life on April 13, 2018, in a double murder-suicide incident. Brittany had recently filed for divorce from her estranged husband, Brandon Sevrey, in January 2018. The couple had been married for six years and had two children together, ages six and nine. Despite agreeing to joint custody of their children, there were no indications in the court records that the separation might turn violent.
