On the morning of June 26, 1998, 38-year-old Debra Sue Murray was ambushed and fatally shot on the front lawn of her home in Chandler, Arizona, as she was leaving for her job as a manager at a local Jack in the Box. The incident occurred at approximately 4:30 AM. Inside the house at the time were her 12-year-old son and the family's live-in nanny, both of whom were asleep and did not witness the shooting.
