In the late summer of 2020, the life of Christopher A. Vogt, a 60-year-old man from Battle Creek, Michigan, came to an unexpected and tragic end. On Sunday, September 20, 2020, Vogt was found deceased in the garage of his home located on Arlington Drive in Bedford Township. The cause of his death was determined to be a single gunshot wound to his upper thigh.
Investigations by the Battle Creek police revealed that Vogt's death was the result of an accidental discharge of a firearm.
Evidence at the scene indicated that the gun, a. 45 caliber handgun that he was known to carry in the waistband of his pants, accidentally fired. Authorities found no evidence of foul play, and consequently, no arrests were made or suspects sought in connection with the incident.

He was a 1978 graduate of Battle Creek Central High School and was known for his willingness to help others and his encouraging nature. His passing was a sudden and sad loss for his family and the community he served.
