In the winter of 2020, the city of Flint, Michigan, was rocked by a violent crime that claimed the life of 34-year-old Thomas C. Biggs, a Black male. On December 21, 2020, Biggs was killed in a double homicide, a devastating event that left his family and community in mourning. Known for his vibrant personality, he was a loving father to two sons and was married in 2016. He was an entrepreneur with his own clothing line called 'The Wise Guys' and also worked at Skaff Furniture.
His passions included basketball, music, and, most importantly, spending time with his loved ones.
The investigation into the double homicide quickly determined that foul play was involved. Law enforcement officials identified two primary suspects in the case: Christopher Neely and Felecia McCarty. The pair were located in Florida and subsequently extradited back to Genesee County, Michigan, to face legal proceedings. The nature of their relationship and the motive behind the killings were central questions for investigators as they pieced together the events that led to the tragic deaths.
Neely and McCarty were met with a string of serious charges upon their return to Michigan. Both were charged with first-degree felony murder, conspiracy to commit felony murder, and additional felony firearms charges. The community has closely followed the legal proceedings, seeking justice for Thomas C. Biggs and the other victim, Heather Ann Flint Bonner. His father has publicly expressed the profound grief and a desire for accountability for those responsible for his son's death.
