On the evening of February 25, 2021, Michael William Vines, a 64-year-old male, was shot and killed outside of his home at the Elements on Main Apartments on West Main Street in Kalamazoo, Michigan. A retired public school teacher and U.S. Army veteran, Vines was a Chicago native who had relocated to Michigan. He was remembered as someone who loved photography, music, and was actively engaged in the nation's political scene.
