Michael Douglas Smith, aged 74, passed away on June 26, 2021, in Flint, Michigan. Born on May 1, 1947, in Saginaw, Michigan, he was a Vietnam veteran and a beloved family man. Michael was married to Linda Campbell in 1977 and was known for his love of chess, which he enjoyed teaching to his children and grandchildren. He was also an avid University of Michigan fan and authored two books.
