In the winter of 2021, a night of socializing at a Pontiac, Michigan, apartment took a tragic and violent turn, ending the life of 30-year-old Kyle Milton. On November 4th, what began as a gathering of friends enjoying drinks and marijuana descended into a fatal confrontation. The evening shattered when Torris Green, 29, unexpectedly arrived at the apartment.
Green discovered his child's mother, Latoyia Puckett, in a compromising situation with another man, Stefon Crow.
Although Green and Puckett were not in a relationship, they co-parented a child. Enraged by what he saw, Green reportedly threw a bottle of liquor on the bed and left the room, only to return moments later. A heated argument erupted in the living room between Green, Milton, and others. The confrontation quickly escalated, and Green is said to have opened fire, shooting both Crow and Milton.
Stefon Crow was found deceased inside the apartment. Kyle Milton, in an attempt to escape the violence, fled the residence but succumbed to his injuries outside. He was found there by authorities. Following the shooting, Torris Green fled the scene, sparking a manhunt.
U.S. Marshals later apprehended Green in Texas. He was charged with two counts of second-degree murder for the deaths of Kyle Milton and Stefon Crow. During the trial, witness testimony, including that of Latoyia Puckett, painted a detailed picture of the events that transpired that fatal night. The court learned that Green had a prior criminal history, which included convictions for assault and possession of controlled substances. In January 2023, a jury found Torris Green guilty of second-degree murder for the killings of both men, bringing a measure of closure to the families of the victims.
