Talal Najib Sitto, a 46-year-old man, was shot and killed on March 23, 2022, in the parking lot of a Marathon gas station located on Ryan Road in Warren, Michigan. The incident unfolded as a planned meeting that ultimately turned fatal.
According to police, Sitto had arrived at the gas station and was sitting in his Audi for several minutes before a Ford Fusion pulled up alongside him.
A man identified as Christopher Slade exited the passenger seat of the Fusion and entered Sitto's vehicle, where he remained for a short period. After Slade returned to the Fusion, Sitto appeared to signal to the occupants of the other car. Slade then re-entered Sitto's Audi.
It was at this point that the driver of the Ford Fusion, identified as Joshua Carter, allegedly exited his vehicle and opened fire on Sitto, shooting him multiple times at close range. The shooting was not considered a random act by investigators. Following the incident, Carter fled the scene. He later turned himself in to the police. Slade was also taken into custody by Warren police in Detroit.
