In the quiet community of Wyoming, Michigan, a devastating act of violence shattered the peace on May 31, 2022. Thirteen-year-old Joelin Hernandez-Landa, a young girl with her whole life ahead of her, was tragically killed in her own home. The incident, which unfolded in the early hours of the morning, also claimed the lives of her mother, 33-year-old Liliana Landa-Sanchez, and her 11-year-old sister, Ayzy Hernandez-Landa.
The Wyoming Department of Public Safety responded to a call that
led them to the residence, where they made a grim discovery. All three victims had been fatally shot. The investigation quickly identified the perpetrator as Oscar Moran-Hernandez, the 43-year-old boyfriend of Liliana Landa-Sanchez. Authorities concluded that the horrific event was a murder-suicide, as Moran-Hernandez had turned the gun on himself after killing the mother and her two daughters. Miraculously, three other children, ages 2, 5, and 9, who were also in the home at the time, were found physically unharmed.
The preliminary investigation suggested that the killings were the result of a domestic dispute.
