In the early hours of May 31, 2022, the life of 11-year-old Ayzy Hernandez-Landa was tragically cut short in her home in Wyoming, Michigan. Ayzy, a female, was found deceased alongside her 13-year-old sister, Joelin Hernandez-Landa, and their 33-year-old mother, Liliana Landa-Sanchez. All three had been fatally shot in what investigators determined to be a murder-suicide.
The perpetrator was identified as 43-year-old Oscar Moran-Hernandez, the boyfriend of Liliana Landa-Sanchez.
It is believed that Moran-Hernandez shot Liliana and her two daughters before turning the gun on himself. Three other children, ages 2, 5, and 9, were present in the house at the time of the incident but were physically unharmed. Two of these younger children were the offspring of Landa-Sanchez and Moran-Hernandez.
Authorities were alerted to the horrific scene around 4 a.m. after Moran-Hernandez made a distressing call to a relative, who then contacted the police. Upon their arrival, law enforcement discovered the four bodies. The initial investigation pointed towards a domestic dispute as the likely catalyst for the violence. Friends and family of the victims were left to mourn the sudden and devastating loss of three lives.
