In the early hours of a Wednesday morning in Flint, Michigan, a senseless act of violence tragically cut short the life of Tanya L. Boyland. On June 1, 2022, the 40-year-old Black female was at her home on E. Foss Avenue when gunfire erupted just after midnight. Responding officers discovered a grim scene; Boyland had been fatally shot.
