On January 11, 2025, Tarus Moore, a 51-year-old man, was fatally shot inside a home in South Chicago. The incident occurred around 4:15 p.m. in the 8600 block of South Muskegon Avenue. According to reports, Moore was engaged in an argument with a woman inside the residence when the dispute escalated into a physical altercation. During the confrontation, the woman retrieved a firearm and fired a single shot, striking Moore in the head.
