In the summer of 2022, a family gathering in Saginaw, Michigan, turned into a scene of unimaginable tragedy, forever altering the lives of the Buendia family. Laura Buendia, a 24-year-old woman, was at her parents' home on South 11th Street for a cookout on the night of June 5th. Known for her warm heart and passion for baking, Laura was six months pregnant and eagerly anticipating the arrival of her first child, a daughter to be named Rosalina.
