In the early hours of New Year's Day in 2015, the life of 22-year-old Stefon Donnell Powell was tragically cut short. The young man was discovered in a parking garage in College Park, Maryland, suffering from gunshot wounds. The incident, which marked the first homicide of the year in Prince George's County, prompted an immediate investigation by local law enforcement.
At approximately 2:30 a.m.
on January 1st, police responded to a report of a shooting in the 9600 block of Milestone Way. Upon arrival, they found Powell, a resident of District Heights, who had succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The news of the violent death in what was considered a relatively quiet area caused concern among local residents and brought attention to issues of safety in the community.
