Dean Nicolas Barnes, aged 51, was reported missing on December 1, 2022, from Paradise, Michigan. His vehicle was discovered at the East Creek Reserve trailhead on Mayfield Road in Paradise Township on December 5, 2022. Despite extensive search efforts by Michigan State Police, including canine and aviation units, Barnes was not located immediately. It wasn't until April 15, 2023, that his body was found by a search and rescue volunteer at the East Creek Reserve.
