Patrolman William Rankin Hickman, a dedicated officer with the Jackson Police Department in Mississippi, tragically lost his life in the line of duty on April 13, 1981. At the age of 29, Hickman was responding to a weapon violation call at a bar located at 924 Lynch Street.
