Narcotics Investigator Brandon Douglas "Teddy" Breland, aged 23, tragically lost his life on November 27, 2005, in Wiggins, Mississippi. Investigator Breland and Officer Odell Fite were responding to a domestic disturbance call at approximately 8:00 PM on South First Street. Upon arrival, a male subject managed to gain control of one of their .40 caliber service weapons and opened fire on both officers. The incident resulted in the deaths of both Investigator Breland and Officer Fite.
