In the quiet town of Pass Christian, Mississippi, a young man's life was tragically cut short in a violent encounter that stemmed from the seemingly innocent sale of a go-kart. Bruce Robinson Jr., a 20-year-old male, was shot and killed on April 3, 2015, just two days before Easter. The incident unfolded in a yard on West Railroad Street, where Robinson had arranged to meet a potential buyer for his go-kart.

The transaction turned deadly when Alexander Joseph Dedeaux Jr., who was 19 at the time, opened fire on Robinson. An autopsy would later reveal that Robinson had been shot seven times, with wounds to his back and buttocks. A witness to the tragic event reported seeing Robinson with his hands raised just before the shots were fired. Another witness saw Dedeaux emerging from a nearby wooded area after the shooting. When police arrived at the scene, they found Robinson's body and a total of $1,300, with some of the money located under his body and the rest under the edge of a house.

In the aftermath of the shooting, Alexander Joseph Dedeaux Jr. was arrested and charged with the murder of Bruce Robinson Jr. In August 2017, Dedeaux pleaded guilty to second-degree murder. A judge subsequently sentenced him to 40 years in prison. However, 20 of those years were suspended, meaning Dedeaux is expected to serve 20 years behind bars. Upon his release, he will be placed on supervised probation for a period of five years.
