Carlos Dewayne Bates, aged 29, tragically lost his life on February 7, 2016, during a shooting incident at a Mardi Gras parade in Pass Christian, Mississippi. The incident occurred at the intersection of Davis Avenue and Ladnier Street, shortly after the last float had left the parade route. Bates, along with 43-year-old Isaiah Major III, was fatally shot at the scene. The bodies of the two victims were found approximately 20 feet apart.
