In the autumn of 2015, the life of 36-year-old Patrick Lamont King, a male resident of Jackson, Mississippi, was cut short in an act of violence. On the evening of Sunday, October 4th, events unfolded at the Willow Street Apartments, a complex also known to locals as the Southside Terrace Apartments, that would end in King's untimely death.
Reports from that night indicate that an altercation escalated to the point of gunfire. Responding to the incident, law enforcement officers discovered King had sustained a fatal gunshot wound. The initial investigation into the shooting pointed to a dispute as the catalyst for the deadly confrontation. The Jackson Police Department quickly launched a homicide investigation to piece together the events of that evening and identify those responsible for King's death.
The investigation led to the identification of a suspect, Darionte R.D. Williams. Following inquiries and the gathering of evidence, Williams was apprehended by authorities.
