In the early morning hours of a Tuesday in Pontotoc County, Mississippi, the life of 33-year-old Justin Jermaine Judon was tragically cut short. On February 16, 2016, sheriff's deputies responded to a call reporting shots fired at 103 Owen Bend Road. Upon their arrival, they discovered Judon suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite the efforts of first responders, he succumbed to his injuries a short time later.
The investigation into the shooting began immediately, and two individuals were taken into custody at the scene. The suspects were later identified as 42-year-old Krysta Chewe and 30-year-old Willie Davidson. As the inquiry progressed, authorities worked to piece together the events that led to the fatal shooting, which marked the first homicide of the year in Pontotoc County.
Following their arrest, both Chewe and Davidson faced charges related to Judon's death. Chewe was charged with murder, and her bond was denied. Both she and Davidson were also charged with conspiracy to commit a crime. Davidson's bond was set at $500,000. Friends and family mourned the loss of Judon, who was a resident of Tupelo, Mississippi, at the time of his death. His funeral services were held on Saturday, February 27, 2016, at Second M.B. Church in Ecru.
