On April 3, 2024, 43-year-old Angela L. Mercado of Springfield, Massachusetts, was found with a gunshot wound in a parking lot on Riverdale Road in West Springfield. Responding to reports of a disturbance around 10:48 a.m., West Springfield police discovered her and transported her to Baystate Medical Center, where she succumbed to her injuries.
