In the late summer of 2025, the life of 47-year-old Theus Lemoyne Marrion was cut short in Pontotoc, Mississippi. On the evening of Friday, August 1st, a dispute at an apartment complex on Jerry Trail escalated into deadly violence. Marrion was involved in a fight that ended with him being fatally shot.
Following the incident, the Pontotoc County Sheriff's Department launched an investigation that quickly led to a suspect. Twenty-two-year-old Keshan Dwayne Isbel was taken into custody in connection with the shooting. Authorities reported that the altercation between Isbel and Marrion preceded the fatal gunfire.
Isbel was subsequently charged with one count of murder for the death of Theus Marrion. In addition to the murder charge, he also faced two counts of aggravated assault and one count of tampering with evidence. At the time of his arrest, a bond had not yet been set. The sheriff's office indicated that the investigation was ongoing and that they anticipated making further arrests in relation to tampering with evidence in the case. The community was left to grapple with the sudden and violent loss of a resident, as the legal process against the accused began to unfold.
