On January 20, 2025, tragedy struck in Duquesne, Pennsylvania, when 39-year-old Catherine Lawing lost her life in a fatal shooting inside a home on Commonwealth Avenue. Lawing, a white female, was critically wounded in the attack and succumbed to her injuries days later at UPMC Mercy hospital. The incident also claimed the life of 30-year-old Sean Johnson Jr., who was pronounced dead at the scene.
