In the late summer of 2015, the community of Pontotoc, Mississippi, was unsettled by the violent death of one of its own. Mark Anthony Posey, a 52-year-old male, was found deceased on September 20th. The circumstances surrounding his death immediately pointed towards a violent end, as it was determined that he had been fatally shot. The Pontotoc County Sheriff's Department swiftly launched a homicide investigation into the matter, signaling that foul play was suspected in Posey's demise.
