In the late hours of a Saturday night, a domestic disturbance call led deputies to a grim discovery in the front yard of a home on Mike Parra Road in Columbus, Mississippi. There, they found 26-year-old Joshua Kyzer suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite the efforts of first responders, he succumbed to his injuries at the scene on February 20, 2016. Joshua, a Senior Airman in the United States Air Force stationed in Pensacola, Florida, was visiting the area at the time of his death.
