In the late spring of 2016, a verbal altercation in Greenville, Mississippi, escalated to a fatal conclusion, ending the life of 25-year-old Jaricky Jackson. On the evening of May 29, 2016, Jackson was shot in the 100 block of Eighth Street. Emergency services responded, and he was airlifted to the University of Mississippi Medical Center in an attempt to save his life, but his injuries proved too severe, and he succumbed to his wounds.
