In the late summer of 2016, the community of Corinth, Mississippi, was shaken by the violent death of one of its own. On September 3, 2016, 44-year-old Scotty Settlemires, a male resident known for his love of fishing and family, was fatally shot at his home. The incident occurred in the afternoon, around 1 p.m., in the 800 block of County Road 600 in Alcorn County.
