In the autumn of 2016, a young man's life was cut short following a dispute at a gas station in Jackson, Mississippi. Deswaund Bell, a 21-year-old Black male, was at a Shell gas station on Terry Road on November 9, 2016, when an altercation broke out. The argument escalated tragically, resulting in Bell being shot multiple times. He was rushed to a local hospital but succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
